Jobs Australia established the Jobs Australia Foundation to help the most marginalised and seriously disadvantaged communities and people in Australia.
The Jobs Australia Foundation is committed to:
- providing direct relief to some of the most disadvantaged people in the community
- supporting projects which foster innovation and best practice to build effective collaborations and inclusive communities
- encouraging Jobs Australia members and the wider community to broaden their own commitment to disadvantaged people and communities, either through the Foundation or by establishing similar ventures.

Jodie Belyea - Jobs Australia Foundation Manager Jodie joined Jobs Australia Foundation in Feb 2010 as the Project Manager of the Indigenous Youth Leadership Program. This program will see a group of young Indigenous leaders and their mentors, trek the Kokoda Trail in August 2010. She has worked for the past 18 years in the community, government and philanthropic sectors and has a passion for supporting young people (and people in general) to build their self confidence, skills, knowledge and motivation to achieve their personal goals and get the most out of life and living. She has managed youth services across Victoria and delivered a range of accredited and non-accredited life skills, leadership and mentoring programs. These programs have combined a mix of traditional and non-traditional learning mediums such as story-telling, art, circus, camping and bushwalking to ensure individual and group learning and development. She has four goals as Project Manager of the Indigenous Youth Leadership Program, to support group members to: strengthen their emotional, physical and mental resilience; develop clarity about who they are, what they are capable of and how they wish to live and lead within the community; participate in a learning exchange that builds understanding, knowledge and connection between all members of the group and have some fun! Mel Byrnes - Administration Officer Mel joined the Jobs Australia team in June 2009 as Receptionist and has recently moved into the role of Administration Officer. She works Tuesdays and Thursdays for Jobs Australia Foundation and Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for Australian Training Network. Mel’s background is predominantly in Real Estate Administration; however she has also worked in Child Care but has been looking for a position in the not-for-profit industry as she feels it will help her to help the wider community. When not at work she likes to listen to music (the heavier the better!) and to eat out at Melbourne’s Vegetarian Restaurants. |
