ATN Member Benefits

The Jobs Australia Australian Training Network (ATN) is a membership option for all Jobs Australia members involved in the delivery of training and learning pathways.

ATN services assist members to provide unemployed and disadvantaged Australians with access to accredited and non-accredited training pathways in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) system together with opportunities for lifelong learning, education and employment.

ATN members meet at regular State and Territory Network Meetings to discuss VET sector developments and Registered Training Organisation (RTO) practice. Members have established vibrant collaborative working relationships throughout central, regional and remote areas of Australia.

The ATN has a strong emphasis on building the capacity and self-sufficiency of its members in the management and delivery of quality training and learning services. ATN members can access capacity building strategies and consultant services to assist in gaining RTO registration and to further build on established training business.

ATN Member Network Meetings

ATN Member Meetings are conducted in States, Territories and regional areas 2-3 times each year. At these meetings members will:-

o   be informed of current and topical Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector issues as they emerge;

o   share ideas, skills, capabilities, and solutions for mutual benefit;

o   participate in communities of practice that focus on regional training issues and facilitate the development of ‘training hubs’ across specific industry areas;

o   network with experienced training practitioners and industry stakeholders;

o   receive advice and information to guide  RTO practice including compliance with emerging state and national training policy requirements;

o   benefit from shared training and assessment resources; and

o   explore ways to achieve high quality practice in VET – especially for disadvantaged learners.

ATN Email Newsletter

ATN members are automatically subscribed to a newsletter bringing to them important training news, resources, events, issues and burning questions under discussion.

Case studies from members featuring learners, training organisations, enterprises and successful outcomes in local communities are included in the monthly newsletter.

Passworded ATN Website Access

ATN members will have password-protected access to the ATN website, which has information and resources to support adult learning and training delivery. As well as the usual reports of news and developments, a new Livewire function on the site will encourage member exchanges and Q and A on topics of common interest. The ATN site will also feature a calendar to keep you informed of our professional development workshops and forthcoming events.

Training Features, Events and Activities

ATN Members get information about forthcoming training activities, conferences, open days and events.  The ATN will also facilitate groups in Validation, Moderation and other training and compliance processes to ensure quality training delivery and continuous improvement.

The national Jobs Australia Conference held annually includes ATN sessions that focus on future directions in VET, pedagogy, current research and quality training practice.

VET Professional Development Workshops

The ATN Professional Development (PD) Program will inform and support training staff to keep up with policies and good practices in VET. The ATN conducts PD workshops in a number of locations throughout Australia over the course of each year utilising ATN expertise and industry consultants and stakeholders.

ATN membership offers discounted rates for these workshops, so members are assisted with RTO practice, compliance issues and professional development needs in a cost effective manner.

The Training Calendar on the Jobs Australia website provides details of planned workshops and events.

The ATN team can also design tailored workshops to meet your organisation’s needs as an individual member.

RTO Practice and Consultant Services

As a national peak body and RTO, Jobs Australia aims to support and guide members in their RTO practice.

 The ATN has developed a suite of RTO operational manuals that are available to ATN members – these include an RTO Administration Manual and a Funding Contract Procedures Manual.

Jobs Australia is aware that from time to time you may need specialist consultant expertise to guide and support your RTO practice and can broker quality consultancy services on a cost-effective basis where needs are identified.  These services can be in areas including RTO Quality and Risk Management Systems, Compliance, Continuous Improvement, Training System Design and Delivery, Auditing and exploring partnership opportunities in your local areas.

VET Sector Advice and Resources

ATN members can access expert advice, information and support on a range of vocational education and training issues from the ATN team, who are on hand to respond to member enquiries.  In addition to the information on the ATN website, members receive regular Fact Sheets and frequently asked questions on topical and current VET and learning issues.

ATN Members receive discounted rates for learning and assessment materials and resources for selected Training Packages from Industry Skills Councils including Innovation and Business Skills Australia (IBSA) and Community Services and Health Industry Skills Council (CSHISC). Discounts are also available for Microsoft and Adobe software.

Partnering, Capacity Building and Networking Facilitation

The ATN will facilitate opportunities for you to meet with other ATN members, training providers and industry representatives to share expertise, resources, ideas, capabilities and solutions.

The objective of the ATN capacity building service is to build each member organisation’s capability to deliver qualifications and courses in their own right.

The ATN team can assist interested organisations in establishing themselves as an RTO with their own Scope of Registration by providing capacity building support during a 12-18 month period during which a model of best practice tailored for each organisation and its clients is developed.

 Where an organisation is unable to pursue RTO status in its own right, the ATN will seek to facilitate a suitable partnering arrangement that is regionally based but responsive to local needs. In particular, we will seek to facilitate connections that result in local partnering arrangements between ATN members. The ATN can also assist with individual mentoring and capacity building arrangements.

Representation and Advocacy

The ATN will engage with relevant industry bodies, employers and training organisations to understand and report back to members on the training system and its emerging issues and opportunities.

This will include policy submissions and advocacy on issues of common interest, with support from the Jobs Australia Policy team.

Indigenous Training Network (ITN)

Links to the ITN provide ATN members with access to information and advice to support employment and skills pathways for indigenous learners, including access to Jobs Australia’s highly respected Indigenous mentoring course.

Please contact either the ATN Manager or members of the ATN team for any further information regarding membership services or assistance in completing the ATN
